This is the second part in the 'how to submit your blog' series. Many webmasters submit their blog in a category, place a link on their blog and never look at it again. That should be fine with most directories, but some directories sort the links on how many surfers the blogs send. So if blog1 sends 5 hits a day and blog2 only 2 hits than blog1 will be placed above blog2.
Statistics prove that links at the top of a list often get more clicks then links at the bottom of the list. So for you as blog owner it may be handy to get your blog at the top of the list. And like i just said you can do that, just send some visitors and you will see your blog moving to the top of the list.
Now there are a couple ways you can hint your visitor to click a link in a big list of links:
- make a link to a blog directory that sorts on incoming hits bold or add a little "cool" or "hot" icon in front or at the back of the link. A visitor will see that and will likely click the link.
- move the link to a blog directory that sorts on incoming hits to the top of your list with links, there is nothing wrong with a non sorted list.
- move the link to a blog directory that sorts on incoming hits to a better position on your blog, maybe in a "Friends" section. Visitors often pay more attention to "Friends" then to "Links".
A couple blog directories that sort blogs on incoming hits are twistedblogs.com, adultblogdirectory.com, sexbloghunter.com and adultblogspider.com. There should be a couple more.
If you find a blog directory that doesn't sort blogs on incoming hits then there might be a good chance that the directory has a small toplist on a higly visible place. A toplist is a small list (15 to 20 items) that shows the blogs that bring in the most hits from the last 24 or 48 hours. If you own a relative old blog with good traffic you might want to send visitors to the blog directory to try to get on the toplist. How easy or hard this is depends on how old and popular the blog directory is. But you can always try.
